The role of urban china research has been the subject of popular topic in recent urban studies overseas. This paper examines the academic research on urban China. It begins with a discussion of the background and overview of main research fields about urban China research. It is argued that although current overseas studies on urban China have improved Chinese relative research theories and methods, they have their own drawbacks. This paper proposes the further considerations: the context of China studies and right to have a voice in the international research field, the cooperation between civil and abroad scholars and the practicality of the abroad research, which aim to sustain the urban China studies. |
